You do not have to useitfor calls, but you must have one for the texting feature. Gotogoogle.com/voice to obtain one.-You will receive a notification in your status bar each timeyoureceive a regular text which, when clicked on, will open theapp.My advice would be to turn off notifications in the app fromyourapplication manager when you're not using the app however youmustturn them back on when using the app in order to get thepropernotifications.
